The City of Tampa collects bulky trash for free exactly once a year. The other 364 days, the old recliner, the dead washer and the boxes from the move stay in the garage — unless you send us a photo. You get a flat price back in seconds (a sofa is $126, a quarter truck $241), and a vetted crew carries it out.
We work both shores: Tampa, Brandon, Riverview and New Tampa on the east side of the bay; St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo and the Gulf beaches on the Pinellas side; Wesley Chapel and the Pasco suburbs to the north. Florida doesn’t tax junk removal, so the price has no sales-tax line.

Two big cities in the metro publish their bulky-trash rules, and they couldn’t be more different. Here’s what each one actually offers.
City residents get one free, prescheduled bulky pickup per year on an assigned Sunday. Everything goes in a single curbside pile — no more than about ten cubic yards — set out no earlier than five days ahead. Building materials, electronics, yard waste and household chemicals aren’t accepted. Extra special pickups are billed by the cubic yard.
You request it, and the city collects up to three cubic yards of furniture, carpet and appliances free, placed wherever your regular trash is picked up — the alley in much of the older grid, the curb elsewhere. Anything over three yards is charged per cubic yard after an estimate.
Clearwater, the unincorporated parts of Hillsborough and Pinellas, and the Pasco suburbs all run their own programs, and we haven’t verified those rules, so check with your hauler or county. When the free option doesn’t fit — it’s eleven months until your SWEEP date, the pile is bigger than three yards, or nothing should sit at the curb — we come to you, carry it out and price it before we arrive.
No basements on Florida slab, so everything piles up in the garage, on the screened lanai, and, after the 2024 storms, in ground-floor rooms that took on water.

No. Junk removal isn’t a taxable service in Florida, so neither Hillsborough’s nor Pinellas’s rate is added to your quote.
If you live in the City of Tampa, your pile fits in one curbside heap, and your assigned Sunday is coming up, SWEEP is free and worth using. It’s once a year, though, and it doesn’t take building materials or electronics. We’re the option for the rest of the calendar, and for anything still inside the house.
