Storm Debris Removal on Treasure Island
After back-to-back hurricanes in 2024, many beach homes here crossed FEMA’s 50% substantial-damage line. Whether yours is being gutted, demolished or raised, the contents and debris have to go first. A full 16-yard truck is $732; half a truck is $431.
Barrier-Island Homes After 2024
Treasure Island incorporated in 1955, and about 70 percent of its area is water. Along with Madeira Beach, Redington and Indian Rocks, it’s a string of 1950s-to-’70s beach homes and condos owned by retirees and vacation-rental investors.
The FEMA 50% rule forced a decision on many of those homes: gut and repair, demolish, or elevate. Every option starts with a clear-out. Bulky-item rules on the beaches are local; we haven’t verified them.
